Exhibition
The firm that I work for, EOA/Elmslie Osler Architect, was invited to install an exhibition in the Slocum Gallery at Syracuse University. I was the project manager and graphic designer for this multi-media exhibition showcasing EOA’s Food Chain project. The Food Chain is an urban farming and planning intervention which includes a green path of vertical farming walls. We wanted to create a path element to guide the viewer through the space and tie the exhibition conceptually to the project. We needed to communicate the conception, implementation and future of this very complex project to viewers who knew nothing about it.
We used layers of translucent green plexiglass panels to represent the path and to guide the viewer through the space. We silkscreened maps, diagrams and other pertinent information onto the panels. There was a video installation, a living wall panel with herb plants, a scale model, and three informational posters. All of the elements were suspended from the ceiling with fishing wire.
